Workshop 1
Workshop 1
After doing the research and thinking about the main 3 problems that Gen Alpha are facing, I decided to link it with my dream and goals, which is creating animated movies for kids. But I did not want to be the hero of the movie. So, i thought of an idea...
Lets make a community base where children can come play and create designs that will be used as the main characters for the animated story. And to do that, i have to conduct a workshop.
Thank you Lolwa Alkandari for your help and support, and thanks to Promenade Culture Centre for giving me the opportunity to work with them in Naktub workshop. Thanks to Dr. Besma Almusallam for connecting me to Lolwa and suggesting participating there.
During Naktub workshop I did two workshops in different days. The first one was for character making, using tangible materials like fabric, foam, felt, glue and leather. Kids where asked to imagine themselves as a cartoon character. Some kids were literal and can elaborate using drawing, some kids use words to describe their characters, and some might have difficulties thinking of an idea.
The section took 2 hours non-stop to complete the characters.
After that I worked on developing the characters that will be using for a stop motion animated story.
